 Pe una dintre cele mai înalte coline din comitatul Elberton, statul Georgia (SUA) se înalţă o impresionantă şi neobişnuită construcţie arhitectonică. Ghidurile turistice o denumesc Georgia Guidestones, iar localnicii au botezat-o „Stonehenge-ul american”.

Pe cele patru principale lespezi de granit albastru cu înălţimea de 5 metri sunt gravate în cele mai răspândite opt limbi ale lumii 10 sentinţe în calitate de mesaj pentru întreaga umanitate.

În jurul acestui monument, dar mai ales în jurul mesajului celor 10 sentinţe (porunci), deja de mai bine de 25 de ani de la inaugurarea acestuia, nu contenesc discuţiile şi controversele.

În deosebi, în jurul primei ”sentinţe-porunci”: “Menţineţi populaţia (planetei) în limitele a 500 milioane de locuitori, în permanent echilibru (armonie) cu natura (posibilităţile biosferei Pământului)“…

Ciar şi apariţia acestui ansamblu arhitectural este acoperit de vălul misterului…

Într-o seară târzie din iunie 1979 în oficiul companiei specializate în prelucrarea granitului „Elberton Granite Finishing Corporation” din orăşelul omonim Elberton a intrat un domn îmbrăcat elegant, care a dorit să afle preţurile la executarea monumentelor mari din piatra de granit autohtonă. S-a prezentat acest domn cu numele de Cristian, explicând că reprezintă un grup restrâns de cetăţeni americani, care ar fi dorit în continuare să rămână anonimi.

Respectabilul domn s-a interesat de preţurile prelucrării pietrei de granit, precum şi despre banca care deservea compania.

Dl. Cristian i-a explicat conducătorului companiei dlui Fendly, mirat la culme, esenţa solicitării sale, spunând că grupul iniţiatorilor proiectului doresc să instaleze undeva într-o zonă pustie din apropiere un monument din granit.

Neobişnuitul monument urma să fie constituit din şase lespezi dreptunghiulare, avânt inscripţionate (gravate) pe ele un mesaj identic în opt limbi: engleză, spaniolă, rusă, chineză, arabă, ebraică, hindi şi suahili. Mecenaţii anonimi mai doreau să existe posibilitatea lărgirii pe viitor a ariei monumentului prin instalarea pe raza lui exterioară de noi lespezi de granit pe care mesajul transmis umanităţii urma să fie gravat şi în alte limbi.

Compania „Elberton Granite Finishing Corporation” era la acel moment, ca şi în prezent, una din cele mai mari din lume în domeniul prelucrării pietrei, însă comenzi de o asemenea complexitate nu mai avuse până atunci. Greutatea totală a monumentului constituia 119 tone, înălţimea – aproape şase metri, mai mult de 4.000 de litere urmau să fie inscripţionate! Clientul a cerut atragerea celor mai buni experţi în cioplirea şi construcţia monumentelor.

Peste câteva săptămâni de la această vizită memorabilă banii deja au fost viraţi în contul companiei.

Dl. Cristian a ales un teren aproximativ de 2 hectare pe teritoriul uneia dintre fermele din preajma Elvertonului. Clientul a insistat ca imediat după finisarea proiectului, să-i fie transmis dosarul cu toate documentele referitoare la proiect, pentru a păstra în felul acesta confidenţialitatea deplină.

Cristian şi ceilalţi sponsori anonimi au conceput un monument pentru veacuri, iar apelurile încrustate în piatră au fost foarte bine gândite, adresându-se oamenilor indiferent de naţionalitate, religie sau politică.

Unul dintre cele mai neobişnuite şi misterioase monumente din Statele Unite a fost inaugurat la 22 martie 1980 (în ziua echinocţiului de primăvară).

Patru lespezi mari de granit indică cu laturile sale exterioare hotarele mişcării Lunii de-a lungul anului astronomic. Lespedea orizontală de deasupra (acoperişul) este un calendar. Cu ajutorul razelor solare care trec prin gaura făcută în lespede poate fi determinată în fiecare amiază ziua respectivă a anului.

O altă gaură săpată oblic în lespedea verticală din centru la nivelul ochilor unui om de statură medie, este orientată de la Sud spre Nord în aşa fel că în orice noapte din an prin ea se poate vedea Steaua Polară care simbolizează permanenţa şi înfrăţirea cu natura.

Aşadar, pe cele patru lespezi verticale în formă de cruce este inscripţionat în opt limbi unul şi acelaşi mesaj constituit din 10 sentinţe scurte.

Cum am menţionat deja, întreaga construcţie, dar mai ales mesajele inscripţionate sunt contestate vehement de adepţii Teoriei Conspiraţiei, care întrevăd în spatele construcţiei pe reprezentanţii aşa-zisei „Ierarhii Mondiale” care încearcă să controleze lumea din umbră, iar mesajele constituind „cele 10 porunci” ale „Noii Ordini Mondiale” spre care tind aceşti conspiraţionişti.

The Georgia Guidestones in Elbert County, Georgia.

The Georgia Guidestones are a huge granite artifact located on a hilltop in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. It is sometimes referred to as the "American Stonehenge," a title that has been applied at times to a number of other structures. A message comprising ten guides is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient scripts: Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Egyptian Hieroglyphs.

The artifact is almost twenty feet tall, and made from six granite slabs that weigh more than 100 tons in all. One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some clarifying notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

 History

In June 1979, a man who went by the supposed pseudonym R.C. Christian hired Elberton Granite Finishing Company to build the structure. Some believe the initials "R.C." and the choice of Pyramid Granite Blue for the structure is symbolic to the Brotherhood of the Rose Cross and the Rosicrucian Order.

The Message of the Georgia Guidestones

A message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones. Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Ancient Chinese and Russian. The message in English reads: 

• Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
• Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
• Unite humanity with a living new language.
• Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.
• Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
• Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
• Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
• Balance personal rights with social duties.
• Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.
• Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

A shorter message appears on the four vertical surfaces of the capstone, again in a different language and script on each face. The explanatory tablet near the Guidestones identifies these languages/scripts as Babylonian Cuneiform (north), Classical Greek (east), Sanskrit (south), and Egyptian Hieroglyphs (west), and provides what is presumably an English translation: "Let these be guidestones to an age of reason."

A few feet to the west of the artifact, an additional granite tablet has been set level with the ground. This tablet identifies the structure and the languages used on it, lists various facts about the size, weight, and astronomical features of the stones, the date it was erected, and the sponsors of the project. It also speaks of a time capsule buried under the tablet, but the positions on the stone reserved for filling in the dates on which the capsule was buried and is to be opened are missing, so it is not clear whether the time capsule was ever put in place. The tablet is with one edge to each of the cardinal directions, and is inscribed such that the northern edge is the "top" of the inscription.

The complete text of the explanatory tablet is detailed below. The accompanying image shows the overall layout. The tablet is somewhat inconsistent with respect to punctuation, and also misspells "pseudonym." The original spelling, punctuation and line breaks in the text have been preserved in the transcription that follows.

Location

The Georgia Guidestones are located in Elbert County, Georgia, approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) east of Atlanta, and 9 miles (15 kilometers) north of the center of Elberton. The stones are standing on a rise a short distance to the east of Georgia Highway 77 (Hartwell Highway), and is visible from that road. Small signs beside the highway indicate the turnoff for the Guidestones, which is identified by a street sign as "Guidestones Rd."

В июне 1979 года поздно вечером в офис гранитообрабатывающей компании городка Элбертон вошел хорошо одетый человек, который пожелал узнать расценки на сооружение больших монументов из местного камня. Он назвался мистером Христианом и сказал, что представляет небольшую группу американских граждан, которые хотели бы впредь остаться анонимными. Респектабельный господин поинтересовался стоимостью обработки гранита, а также банками, обслуживающими компанию.

Христиан объяснил изумленному руководителю фирмы м-ру Фендли, в чем суть его просьбы. Он сказал, что группа инициаторов проекта желает установить где-нибудь в пустынном районе монумент из гранита.

Необычный памятник должен состоять из шести цельных камней с высеченным на них посланием на восьми языках: английском, испанском, русском, китайском, арабском, иврите, хинди и суахили. Неизвестные меценаты хотели также  предусмотреть возможность расширения границ монумента в будущем для воздвижения новых камней по внешнему кольцу, на которых послание человечеству будет высечено на других языках.

Эта компания является крупнейшей в мире по обработке камня, однако таких сложных заказов доселе она не получала. Общий вес монумента составлял 119 тонн, высота - почти шесть метров, более 4 тыс. высеченных букв. Заказчики требовали привлечения лучших экспертов по обработке и конструированию монументов.

Несколько недель спустя деньги уже поступили на счет компании.

Элбертон был выбран как идеальное место для постройки. Христиан выбрал участок примерно в два гектара на одной из местных ферм. Заказчики просили, чтобы, как только проект будет завершен, им передали папку со всеми документами, касающимися проекта, с тем, чтобы навсегда сохранить секрет.

Христиан и другие анонимные спонсоры задумывали монумент на века, и призыв к разумному человечеству был тщательно сформулирован вне зависимости от национальностей, религий или политики.

На камнях были высечены десять кратких максим, провозглашающих важность контроля  над численностью земного населения и других правил поведения человека на земле.

Один из самых необычных монументов в США был открыт 22 марта 1980 года. В народе его сразу окрестили "американский Стоунхендж". Его составные части произведены из бело-голубого гранита. Почему выбрали именно Джорджию? Здесь очень много высококачественного камня, мягкий щадящий климат, великолепные мастера. К тому же прабабушка Христиана была родом из этих мест.

Монумент необычен.

Четыре больших вертикальных камня наружными сторонами указывают на границы движения Луны в течение года.

Верхний горизонтальный камень (крыша) - календарь. По солнечному лучу, падающему через отверстие, проделанное в нем,  можно определить день года в каждый полдень.

Прорезь в центре одного из вертикальных камней образует "окно", совпадающее по расположению с восходом солнца в дни летнего и зимнего солнцестояния и во время равноденствия. В полдень солнце светит в нее так, что определяет полдень на косой линии внизу камня.

Скошенное отверстие на уровне глаз в центральном камне расположено с юга на север так, что ночью в него всегда видна путеводная Полярная звезда, символизирующая постоянство и единение с природой. Все измерения  по размерам и ориентации в пространстве при установке монумента производились самым тщательным образом.

Американцы известны во всем мире как весьма прагматичные люди, которые зря не потратят лишний доллар. Христиан и его друзья начисто опровергают это утверждение.

Прошло уже более четверти века, как стоят путеводные камни Джорджии, а имена спонсоров так и остались неизвестными. Ежегодно десятки тысяч американцев приезжают в городок Элбертон, чтобы увидеть необычный монумент, прочитать послание жителям Земли.
